Eventix has rebranded as Weeztix following its merger with Weezevent, though it will continue to operate independently.
The move hopes to establish a strong European presence for the two independent ticketing platforms. Weeztix will continue to focus on its flagship open API ticketing technology, while Weezevent will offer event organisers a more broad range of solutions including accreditation, cashless services, access control and more.
Start-up Weezevent was founded in France in 2008 and launched the first French self-service ticketing platform through online SaaS (Software As A Service) aimed at event organisers.
“We are proud to become Weeztix and to team up with the Weezevent group, as this creates new opportunities internationally and enhances our offering,” commented Joost Aanen, chief executive of Weeztix.
“Our existing customers will experience no changes – our team, product and dedication will remain the same.”
Despite being part of the same group, Weeztix will continue to drive separate product development and tailored market approaches.
Pierre-Henri Deballon, CEO of Weezevent, added: “By combining Weezevent and Eventix, we’re creating a powerful synergy that will enhance our offerings and provide greater value to event organisers all over Europe. Together, we will continue to redefine the ticketing experience.”
In January, and prior to the announcement of its acquisition and rebrand, Weeztix (then known as Eventix) entered into a partnership with music streaming service Spotify.
The collaboration allows live music organisers to list their events on Spotify through Weeztix and promote shows across multiple channels.
