Legends appoints new CFO and COO
Legends has made Brett Parker its new chief financial officer and chief operating officer for the combined Legends and ASM Global business.
Parker joins after more than two decades as an executive leader at Lucky Strike Entertainment.
“Brett brings exceptional experience in finance and operations, further enhancing our leadership team to deliver the best for our partners and their fans and guests,” said Legends chief executive Dan Levy.
“His track record in scaling businesses and driving strategic growth will be invaluable as we bring together Legends and ASM Global and expand our global impact.”
SXSW Sydney managing directors named
TEG has appointed Simon Cahill and Jono Whyman as co-managing directors for the SXSW Sydney festival, which is set to take place in October.
Cahill currently serves as TEG’s head of commercial while Whyman is the general manager of SXSW Sydney.
The changes follow Colin Daniels’ decision to step down from the SXSW Sydney managing director position.
“We are both honoured to step into the role of Co-Managing Directors for SXSW Sydney,” said Cahill and Whyman.
“We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Geoff for this incredible opportunity and to Colin for laying such a strong foundation for the festival.
“We are excited to build on the success of the festival and further develop SXSW Sydney as the premier destination for innovation, creativity, and collaboration in the Asia Pacific region.”
Promotions at Dayglo Presents
Dayglo Presents has made three new promotions within the company, including Stephen Grybowski becoming vice-president of marketing and family programming.
Bradley Tucker has been made vice-president of business development while Sarah Graber is now HR and administrative director.
“I am thrilled to be able to watch Brad, Sarah and Stephen grow at Dayglo,” said Dayglo Present founder and chief executive Peter Shapiro.
“They each started as interns and are now helping us lead the company into the next phase of our future.”
The Venue Management Association (VMA) has appointed Mark Zundans as the new chair of its Venue Management School.
Zundans is currently general manager of The Gabba in Brisbane and has more than 25 years of experience in the venue industry.
The Association for Cultural Enterprises is looking for new members to join its board of trustees.
“We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with specialist skills/knowledge in the fields of sustainability, finance, education and training and delivering large scale events,” read a statement from the association.
“We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels, and prior board experience is not required – what matters most is your passion for cultural enterprise, your enthusiasm for the sector, and willingness to be an active contributor.”
