The AFL said the new offering will provide fans with a seamless way to travel and support their team across Australia during the upcoming AFL Premiership and AFLW seasons.
As well as match tickets, AFL Travel will serve as a hub for Accor Hotel accommodation and Virgin Australia flights. It will also offer exclusive experiences for some of the season’s biggest matches and rounds.
AFL Travel aims to enhance the fan experience and has been launched with a select number of in-demand matches. It will eventually expand to cater to the 500,000-plus fans who travel to matches.
Launch packages include the Gather Round event in South Australia, the ANZAC Eve and ANZAC Day matches, select West Coast matches at Optus Stadium, and the Big Freeze match on June 9 between Melbourne and Collingwood.
Tristan Salter, general manager of operations at the AFL, said: “The AFL has some of the best fans in the world and we are continuously looking for ways to make our game more accessible. We want to ensure fans have access to some of the biggest matches on the AFL calendar, plus a seamless way to book travel and support their clubs all over the country,” Salter said.
