Liverpool Football Club has said that an average of almost 500 general admission season ticket seats have been left empty for Premier League home games during the current campaign.
The total was revealed as the English club launches ‘Every Seat, Every Game’ to encourage all seats to be filled at Anfield. The new policy means that season ticket holders will need to ensure their seat is used for at least 15 Premier League home games per season from 2025-26, or risk not being eligible to renew for future seasons.
March 17 will also see the season ticket renewal period begin, with prices having been frozen for 2025-26.
‘Every Seat, Every Game’ hopes to encourage all season ticket holders who are unable to attend a game at Anfield to post their seat on the Ticket Exchange or forward their ticket to someone on their Friends and Family list.
Tickets listed on the Ticket Exchange will be counted as used regardless of whether the ticket sells or not. Tickets sent to friends and family will also be counted.
Those who face exceptional circumstances during the season, resulting in their seat not being used, will be able to contact Supporters Services for assistance.
Liverpool’s ongoing consultation with the Supporters Board has contributed to this new season ticket usage policy, and discussions will continue to develop a range of ticket policy changes for next season and beyond.
Additionally, supporters told the club in a recent survey that access to tickets was their single biggest concern. The updated ticketing principles, created in consultation with the Supporters Board, include the goal of making ticket access a realistic goal for all fans while maintaining Anfield’s atmosphere.
Elsewhere, Liverpool has produced a ‘how-to’ video offering guidance for fans purchasing tickets for the club’s Carabao Cup final match against Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium later this month.
The video’s aim is to further protect supporters from purchasing fake tickets.
