Oak View Group, a business focused on venue development, management, premium hospitality services and more, has promoted Nick Vaerewyck to senior vice-president of programming.
Additionally, OVG has appointed Danny Cohen as the new director of programming at US city Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, which is home to the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Seattle Kraken and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) side Seattle Storm.
Vaerewyck will lead in the strategic planning of content development for OVG in the Pacific Northwest, joining the executive leadership team in Seattle which includes members from both OVG and the Kraken.
His responsibilities include strategic oversight of programming goals and content development at Climate Pledge Arena, as well as overseeing private event sales, service, and ticketing operations.
Vaerewyck has been with Climate Pledge Arena since its inception, overseeing the programming of more than 200 events annually, including concerts, family shows, sporting events, and private events.
Meanwhile, Cohen will focus on day-to-day and strategic content development for concerts, family shows, and special events while supporting Climate Pledge Arena’s overall programming goals.
Michael Hadjijoseph has announced he will step away from his role as founder at theatre ticketing booking platform, Stagedoor.
In a post on Linkedin, Hadjijoseph said: “After 10 wild and wonderful years, I’m taking my final bow at Stagedoor. What began as a crazy idea, turned into a bold, curious startup with a mission to bring people closer to theatre.
“Joining forces with Trafalgar Entertainment in 2022 was a major highlight—I’ve had the absolute joy of working alongside some of the most passionate, experienced minds in theatre ticketing. I’m beyond proud of what we’ve achieved and especially thankful for the incredible people I’ve met along the way.”
Elsewhere, development and full-service venue company ASM Global has named Rodney Faulk as general manager of Duke Energy Convention Center.
The venue is located in the US city of Cincinnati and is currently undergoing an 18-month modernisation and expansion project, which is due to be completed in January 2026.
Prior to his new role, Faulk spent five years as general manager at the Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina. The seasoned executive also served as director of operations at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, which is also part of the ASM Global portfolio.
Chris Stafford has joined the UK city of Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre as part-time interim executive director and co-chief executive, following the departure of Stephen Freeman who stepped down last month.
Stafford will work on a part-time secondment from his current leadership position as chief executive of Curve in Leicester. He will work alongside the Royal Exchange’s current artistic director and co-chief executive, Selina Cartmell.
