Athletics event Weltklasse Zürich has agreed a long-term partnership with CTS Eventim-backed Ticketcorner.
Swiss company Ticketcorner will utilise its extensive experience in sports ticketing to ensure easy and seamless access to events. It most recently landed a deal with Swiss ice hockey team SCL Tigers, and extended its relationship with FC Zürich.
Back in December, Ticketcorner was named as the ticketing partner for this year’s staging of the Eurovision Song Contest. The event will take place from May 11-17 at St. Jakobshalle in the Swiss city of Basel.
“With Ticketcorner as a long-term partner, we are focusing on innovative ticketing solutions and expanding the reach of Weltklasse Zürich – for thrilling event experiences of the highest standard,” commented Christoph Joho, co-meeting director of Weltklasse Zürich.
The partnership will encompass this year’s athletics meet and other Weltklasse Zürich events, including Weltklasse Zürich on Sechseläutenplatz and the Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run.
“We are delighted to contribute our expertise to this partnership,” added Oliver Niedermann, chief executive of Ticketcorner.
“We also hope to inspire new target groups for Weltklasse Zürich together. Athletics stands for dynamism, speed, and top performance – qualities that are also deeply embedded in our DNA.”
Ticketcorner is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ticketcorner Holding, which is 50% owned by CTS Eventim and 50% owned by Ringier, a Swiss media company with brands in print, television, radio, online and mobile.
