AEG Presents has acquired live music venue The Complex in Salt Lake City, marking the first site that it owns and operates in the Utah capital.
The Complex was established in 2010 and features two primary indoor venues in the 2,500-capacity Rockwell and The Grand which has room for 850. Summer concerts are also hosted in The Lot, a 4,000-capacity space.
These venues have hosted the likes of Billie Eilish, Billy Idol, Vampire Weekend and more.
“The Complex is the backbone of live music in Salt Lake City. We have always loved promoting shows at The Complex and are so thrilled to bring AEG Presents’ knowledge, relationships and resources together with the entire management team,” said Don Strasburg, president of AEG Presents’ Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest regional offices.
“We are diligently reviewing every opportunity to enhance the already stellar patron and artist experience to make sure the live music fans get even better world class experiences.”
AEG states it plans to continue The Complex’s success in Salt Lake City and that the change in ownership aligns with the US city’s growing live music scene.
The Complex will continue to employ existing staff, with shows booked by Talent Buyer, AEG Presents, Xavier Frey, while the venue will continue to be managed by Paul Brucks.
“After 15 years as an integral part of the Salt Lake City music scene, we’re looking forward to taking things to the next level as an AEG Presents venue,” said Brucks.
“We’ve always been focused on providing the exceptional live music experience for our community and this will allow us to expand on that endeavour.”
