Motorpoint Arena Nottingham Published 11 months ago

The Motorpoint Arena Nottingham is one of the world’s top arenas with 500,000 customers coming through the doors every year. As part of the National Ice Centre complex, which attracts a further 250,000 customers per annum, our venue is big business for the city of Nottingham and the East Midlands region, bringing in over £40m of GVA every year.

The Arena business is critical to the Company’s overall success. By attracting some of the biggest names in music from Ed Sheeran to Iron Maiden, comedy stars such as Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre, family shows ranging from Cirque du Soleil to Disney on Ice and sporting spectacles that include world championship boxing, international netball and world-level ice sports events, the Arena drives a huge amount and range of commercial revenues.

These revenues have grown significantly in recent years thanks to venue development and major partnerships with a host of suppliers and other commercial organisations. Our policy to bring services such as merchandise, catering and security in-house has been hugely successful, to the extent that a new role of Head of Commercial Services has been created to manage and maintain this exceptional growth as new opportunities present themselves every week.

Working to the Commercial Director, you will be a key player in maintaining and developing key commercial partnerships which historically are often long-term, based on successful and constructive relationships that deliver mutual financial growth. You will also have strong marketing experience, managing the teams that book and market the Arena, with a strong focus on ensuring that Arena shows, ticket sales, hospitality experiences and all other revenue opportunities are maximised. Our new partnership with Ticketek is a particularly interesting and exciting partnership that you will be able to develop to huge mutual benefit. You will also be responsible for further increasing secondary revenues and spends per head by working with our catering and merchandising teams on new initiatives, investments, partnerships, and venues.

Our working environment is fast-paced, dynamic, pressured, multi-faceted and long hours, often in the evenings and weekends. However, it is also incredibly satisfying and rewarding to be involved in a venue and an industry that is immersed in the highest echelons of the worlds of live entertainment and sport and which is therefore attractive to many of the biggest brands and commercial partners.

If you have the skills, experience, personality and energy that we need, we would love to hear your boundless enthusiasm for what really is a rare opportunity for a dream job in an industry-leading Company.
