We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivated and commercially astute Head of Marketing & Communications to lead the marketing team at the Grand Opera House, York. Housed in a former 19th century warehouse, this charming Grade II listed building has undergone many changes since, and is now North Yorkshire’s biggest fully operational theatre and the home of live entertainment in the region, showcasing a broad range of musicals, plays, comedy, opera, ballet, and children’s shows.

 

You will play a crucial role in re-establishing the venue’s reputation, ensuring we provide an excellent standard of service and capitalise on new opportunities to grow and develop our offer. Leading a team and building strategic relationships are an essential part of the role, and you’ll be a confident leader with the entrepreneurial skills to build on our established business, as well as elevating the producer experience associated with the venue.

 

The Head of Marketing & Communications has lead responsibility for the theatre’s marketing strategy at a venue level, as well as collaborating with the wider ATG marketing teams and central functions to ensure we are at the forefront of marketing activities, digital campaigns and stakeholder management.

 

The role works closely with the management team in ensuring that visiting productions and producers receive the best service that they can, as well as placing the venue at the heart of the cultural city of York. The Head of Marketing & Communications will lead the Marketing Team and Ticketing Team and develop the staff within these departments.
