Job Title: Manager, Premium Sales

Department: Ticket Sales

Reports To: Director, Membership Sales

Status: Exempt

Directly Supervises: Account Executives, Premium Sales

 

Primary Objective: Responsible for managing the sales activities of a team of premium membership professionals that drive season ticket revenue with a focus on retention and servicing of current customers. The position works collaboratively with other departments and team members to enhance overall sales force effectiveness, serve as the process owner for various Mariners premium products, and leads a high level of customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strong people leadership; implement strategies to effectively manage Team Members and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of department’s people resources.
  • Hire, train, mentor, evaluate performance and foster growth and development of Account Executives, encouraging personal and professional development.
  • Execute the premium membership sales plan by utilizing sales data and metrics to drive revenue results and review performance on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and measure individual and team productivity, goal achievement and overall effectiveness.
  • Manage assigned accounts.  Responsible for account renewal, new revenue generation, processing additional tickets and general customer service. Process accurate and timely data of customer related information into sales CRM and ticketing system.
  • Assist with content design and strategic layout of targeted, automated email communications.
  • Oversee premium customer service efforts, addressing complaints and resolving concerns.
  • Monitor T-Mobile Park inventory to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Provide weekly revenue, business development and pipeline reporting.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field required.  Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of sales experience, including demonstrated sales leadership and proven success in meeting/exceeding goals, holding self and others accountable for expected results, understanding customer needs, presenting solutions and identifying improvements. Prior sales experience in major league sports and/or entertainment preferred.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a management capacity required.

  • Possesses strong business acumen, appropriately managing risk and capitalizing on opportunities that lead to positive outcomes for the business. Skilled in budget/expense management responsibilities.
  • Strong proficiency and comfort with technology; proficiency with Microsoft applications, CRM, professional databases. Evidence of knowledge of current technologies and remain up to date with processes and best practices emerging in the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level and consistent work ethic in working relationships and all work-related responsibilities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in every decision. Must be fair and honest in dealing with partners, public and private stakeholders, employees, and suppliers.
  • Excellent writing skills, experience with customer correspondence and professional internal communication.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills; identifying, collecting, and analyzing relevant information to a problem and create multiple solutions.
  • Strong decision-making ability, knowing when to make a unilateral decision and when to consult with the team or superiors, and how to involve them in the process. Incorporating strategic thinking; formulating objectives and priorities and implementing plans consistent with short- and long-term interests. Capitalizing on opportunities and managing risks.
  • Knowledge of the Seattle business market, including key consumers and contacts.
