Birmingham’s premier live entertainment venues, Utilita Arena Birmingham and Resorts World Arena are on the lookout for an experienced Marketing Manager with a passion for live events to join the Ticketing and Arenas Marketing team to lead and deliver the marketing strategy for our premium experiences.

Acting as the teams marketing expert in the premium and hospitality space, we are looking for an exceptional person to drive best in class marketing, focussing on driving memberships, revenue, and ticket sales whilst providing an outstanding customer journey for our clients and fans.

We are currently embarking on a revolutionary project to transform our premium offer and experiences for fans at our Arenas, meaning there has never been a better time to join.  We are on the lookout for someone to utilise their well rounded marketing knowledge to lead and deliver the brand strategy, deliver world class campaigns and enhance the customer experience.

Primarily you will:

  • Create, own, and implement the marketing strategy and tactical plans for the Amplify brand with a key focus on driving membership and ticket sales revenue for all premium experiences.
  • Create and own the marketing plans for the annual subscription based fan club service, driving memberships and retention whilst continually improving the customer experience.
  • Responsibility and ownership of the Amplify and A.Live superfan club brands, taking the lead on all brand development, creation of brand propositions, and brand execution.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Marketing Planning

  • Develop and implement the marketing plan for the Amplify and Fan Club brands.
  • Ownership and responsibility for delivering the KPI’s associated with the marketing plans.
  • Work with regional media owners and agencies to stay abreast of marketing opportunities within the region.
  • Manage all relationships with external printers and agencies.
  • Responsibility for budget management for marketing activity.
  • Ability to write effective briefs for central marketing teams and account management of these where necessary.

Campaign Management

  • Develop, manage, and deliver effective marketing campaigns utilising new and existing marketing channels providing regional marketing expertise and guidance to drive memberships, ticket sales, leads, and inquiries.
  • Create and deliver compelling campaigns to increase fan club memberships for the key event on sales.
  • Work closely with the wider marketing teams to identify opportunities to promote the fan club proposition on existing channels.
  • Responsibility for the Amplify and fan club pre and post purchase CRM journey, continually testing emails to improve performance with a focus on driving memberships and ticket sales.
  • Analyse the existing marketing channels to identify opportunities to upsell premium experiences and implement a plan to continually test and improve.
  • Create and deliver campaigns targeting the corporate market to increase premium memberships.

Brand Champion

  • Lead on the brand development for Amplify and A.Live to repurpose and revolutionise the offer.
  • Establish the refreshed brands within the marketplace.
  • Drive brand awareness for Amplify within the region and increase the profile across all owned channels including Utilita Arena Birmingham, Resorts World Arena, and The Ticket Factory.
  • Act as the brand guardian for all premium brands to ensure consistency, correct usage of brand elements, and tone of voice.
  • Responsibility for the creation of all brand collateral and assets for Amplify and the fan club.
  • Ownership of the Amplify and Fan Club websites, updating copy, imagery, and video content and identifying website improvements to enhance the customer journey and conversions.
  • Own and manage the content plan for the premium brands with a focus on social acquisition and engagement.
  • Support brand activations at trade events to increase premium memberships.

The ideal candidate will be and or have:

  • Educated to degree level
  • At least 3 years of marketing experience and experience within event marketing or hospitality would be desirable
  • Knowledge and, or experience of the live events music industry and working with promoters would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in media buying with thorough knowledge of the regional media marketplace
  • Strong copy writing skills with an outstanding eye for detail and accuracy
  • Confident in writing and developing compelling copy for marketing campaigns
  • Ability to prioritise and multi task in a fast paced and reactive environment to meet deadlines
  • Target driven and continually able to identify commercial opportunities
  • Organised and focussed to ensure a proactive approach whilst ensuring flexibility to respond to reactive requests in a timely manner
  • Strong, persuasive communicator that can manage conflict and difficult conversations
  • Ability to manage all budgetary aspects of a marketing campaign
  • Self starter, flexible, responsive, determined, and a completer finisher
