As Project Manager you will demonstrate ability to balance commercial strategy, project management and stakeholder engagement to enable success for all MJR Presents & TEG Live properties. To be effective in this role you will be commercial, a strong communicator, well organised and able to manage expectations. The global nature of our department will require a high level of flexibility and adaptability, including project management across conflicting time to get the job done.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

 Project & Business Management

  • Constantly review project performance and adapt and/or adjust business and project strategies accordingly.
  • Estimate, coordinate and manage the resources and participants needed to achieve project and business goals.
  • Proactively manage changes in scope, identify issues, decide contingency plans and escalate issues.

 Budget & Planning

  • Responsible for financial management of the business, including ensuring operating budgets, plans and targets are met.
  • Plan & schedule project milestones and timelines using defined processes and tools.
  • Develop detailed project and business plans and associated communication documents.
  • Be adaptable, able to flex the plans as required.

Strategy & Commercial

  • Responsible for developing and refining the strategy for projects and the business.
  • Demonstrate commercialism as you plan, manage, coordinate and oversee the execution of all projects.
  • Apply business acumen as you build the tour budget for each project in line with TEG Live’s broader strategy.
  • Anticipate changes to market conditions and develop the strategy accordingly.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with all stakeholders.
  • Engage all stakeholders by finding the careful balance between understanding expectations and carrying out the business strategy.
  • Meet deadlines and established priorities in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and managing appropriate 3rd party relationships/agreements in line with business strategy.
  • Ensure the management of the business and delivery of the projects exceed stakeholder expectations.

Operations

  • Oversee the operations of each project to ensure all aspects run effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide clear direction and open lines of communication as you integrate all functions involved in the operations of the projects.
  • Be the point of escalation for all operations matters.

Reporting

  • Provide regular insight on project performance to key stakeholders; weekly, monthly, post project reports.
  • Adapt reporting to make it meaningful for different stakeholders.
  • Leverage insights provided via the report to influence decisions.

Essential experience & skills

Business Acumen

  • Commercial awareness– understanding of industry and client business needs; awareness of marketing principles in relation to live entertainment.
  • Negotiation– strong negotiation skills, ability to understand event/ticketing contracts, and to identify and mitigate risks in the client-TEG Live relationship.
  • Relationship Building- Ability to devleop new and existing relationships with clients; ability to generate new business; to make offers and to close deals.

Technical & Professional

  • Experience & expertise– understands and maintains knowledge of ticketing systems and processes; Live entertainment industry knowledge including the basics of event promotion, event administration and venue management for the genre; ability to develop targeted marking plans.
  • Finacial awareness– ability to understand company and functional budgets, business plans, finance operations.

Leadership

  • Teamwork– ability outside formal lines of authority to work with and influence cross functional teams at the state and national level, and to engage other functional areas within TEG Live.
  • Coaching/Mentoring– ability to coach and mentor staff to enhanced performance & issues understanding, improving their relationship-building skills, as well as improving their knowledge of the industry.
  • Creativity and Adaptability – ability to develop creative solutions to operational issues, adapting to changed situations or changes to client needs.

  • Accountability / Responsibility – takes personal responsibility for the project you are working on. Demonstrates a high level of dependability in all aspects of the job. Owns up to own words and actions. Can be relied on consistently.
