Key responsibilities:

  • Function as a full-time reporter and simultaneous videographer/editor for TheaterMania to cover Broadway, off-Broadway, and film/TV press junkets, red carpet events, opening nights, premieres, award shows, etc., and then edit coverage into well-put-together video packages.  
  • Ideate and execute videos that are delivered on time and that fulfill pitches 
  • Edit select video content for TheaterMania’s London-based sibling website, WhatsOnStage.com 
  • Strong leadership skills as well as the ability to take direction and balance brand objectives with content that delivers to theater fans
  • Partner with sales and marketing to deliver targeted video content 
  • Identify industry opportunities and follow up on them 
  • Constant education, research, and identification of digital innovation, industry trends, and video social media that will lead to the implementation 
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of field reporting, shooting, and editing videos, plus experience working with talent on the red carpet 
  • MUST have own camera 
  • Must love Theater 
  • Editing software: Adobe CC Suite (Premiere Pro, Audition, PhotoShop); After Effects not required but preferred 
  • Experience with basic light kits and sound skills 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and creative 
  • Ability to multitask and delegate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Graphic/Motion design experience a plus
