The Alexandra Theatre Published 1 year ago

We’re recruiting for a Senior Receptionist to join the team at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham’s city centre. You’ll work as part of a friendly, welcoming team at our Stage Door, the reception for staff members and visitors, including the production companies bringing their shows to our theatre, and contractors.

In this role you’ll provide an excellent Stage Door service and welcome, ensuring we maintain security and good standards of health and safety, and flexible support to the visiting companies and other venue departments. In addition, in this senior role, you’ll take responsibility for some team leadership tasks, ranging from creating the rota and confirming the accuracy of timesheet information for payroll, to supporting the Technical Manager in training other members of the team. The role also includes taking an active role in risk management for the venue, including attending risk management meetings. Our stage door is staffed whenever the building is open, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, so you’ll be working on a rota basis shared with the rest of the team.

Please take a look at our job description download for further details; if you have the skills to achieve our goals and an affinity for our values we’d like to hear from you! Experience from within the entertainment sector is welcomed but not essential and we actively encourage applications from people from the widest range of backgrounds, including those currently under-represented in this industry.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and strive to provide a stage for everyone. Onstage and off, we hold ourselves accountable for nurturing an inclusive culture. Find out more about us and our values at atg.co.uk and careers.atg.co.uk

We are a Disability Confident Committed Employer, which means that we are taking action to ensure that people with disabilities and long-term health conditions feel supported, engaged and able to fulfil their potential in the workplace. We will offer an interview or recruitment event to disabled candidates who tell us they wish to participate in the scheme and who demonstrate in their application that they best meet the essential criteria for the role. Where we receive more applications than we are reasonably able to interview for any given role, we will retain applications for the next available interview opportunity wherever possible.
