Reporting to the VP & Chief Operating Officer, the Associate Director, Ticketing Services plays a key role in developing opportunities and building relationships with new and existing ticketing clients, while ensuring that Arts Commons’ ticketing and box office operations are run efficiently and effectively.

As you oversee the ticketing services portfolio, you possess the right mix of interpersonal ability, aspirational leadership and strategic drive needed to elevate this area of our business. You are collaborative in nature, a quick problem solver, and passionate about providing the highest level of customer service for not only our patrons, but also for our resident company, ticketing partners, clients, and community partners.

You are someone who has sound knowledge of industry trends and statistics to provide insights and support operational strategies. Additionally, you possess strong expertise of ticketing platforms, such as Tessitura, and are well versed in utilizing these tools to support business objectives.

You are a positive, supportive, and motivating team leader and eager to collaborate cross-departmentally to find efficiencies in processes, deliver seamless events, and promote the continued growth of our brand and audiences through world class ticketing service.

What you will get to do here:

The Associate Director, Ticketing Services is essential in leading ticketing sales, growth and service objectives, while supporting and managing the Box Office with providing quality client and patron service. A focus is placed on creating strategic plans that are designed to generate new clients and strengthen relationships with existing clients and stakeholders. This includes prospecting and contracting new ticketing services clients, while also collaborating with other departments to support ticket sales and achieve revenue goals. The key accountabilities of this role encompass the primary areas of:

  • Business & Client Development
  • Business Plan & Budget Preparation & Management
  • Ticketing Services
  • Customer Service
  • Team Management

Strategic Goal:

Lead Arts Commons’ ticketing strategy and oversee all aspects of ticket sales – ensuring that ticketing strategies maximize revenues and continue to build relationships with new and existing clients, while maintaining a seamless ticketing experience for clients, patrons, consortium members and community partners.

Where you fit within our ecosystem:

Reporting to the VP & Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for managing the ticketing services & box office team. As part of the Operations department, this role will work closely with the Event Services, Programming, Development, and Finance teams to effectively promote shows, drive ticket sales, settle events, and provide the best in service.

Must haves:

  • Have a minimum of 7+ years’ experience in managing ticketing services operations
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude, with a strong ability to lead, motivate and inspire – as required for managing a team of full and part-time staff
  • Strategic, innovative, well organized, excels at time management and sees the big picture while ensuring no details are overlooked
  • Ability to respond quickly and calmly under pressure to apply tact problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish excellent working relationships with key departments and individuals at all levels in the organization, partners, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to be flexible and creative, while thriving in a collaborative, cross departmental environment
  • Demonstrated competencies in communication, customer service and business ethics
  • Proven problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills
  • Experience and enthusiasm for hiring, training, managing and coaching staff
  • In-depth knowledge of ticketing / CRM systems (Tessitura, Spektrix, Archtics, etc.) and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to prepare complex budgets and forecasts utilizing information from multiple departments, review, and report on actuals to budget.
