Job Description

As Event Operations – Ticketing & Delegate Manager, you will join the tight-knit team responsible for AFR Live, the nation’s foremost convenor of premium business and policy events.

Your role will be to plan, execute and continuously improve all aspects of the delegate journey and experience across all live and virtual events: from enquiries, registrations and customer service through to ensuring delegates have an onsite experience that is smooth, safe and enjoyable. In a typical week, you might spend 30% of your time on ticketing and registrations, 30% on event operations like check-in, catering and venue liaison, 30% on delegate communications and enquiries, and 10% on audience analysis and reporting.

We’re looking for someone who is exceptionally organised, hard working, positive and unflappable under pressure, and who shares our team values of respect, trust, collaboration and pride in our work. This role will join a team with big ambitions – from day one, you will be working on high profile events and will be given the freedom and opportunity to make decisions and contribute to the growth trajectory of this nationally recognised portfolio.

Key tasks include:

  • Manage new registrations, registration changes and refunds and analyse trends in audience and booking patterns
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all telephone and email queries are responded to within 24 hours
  • Produce and manage pre- and post-event delegate communications in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Manage the delegate experience at all events, including registration and check-in, catering and health and safety for delegates
  • Manage feedback surveys and analyse audience data to produce detailed post-event reports

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • 1-4 years experience in the events industry or similar, with focus on operations, ticketing, customer service or event management
  • Excellent organisational skills with outstanding attention to detail
  • Good written communication and customer service skills
  • A friendly, professional, clear, confident and agreeable interpersonal style
  • A good level of comfort with basic technology platforms
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, flexible environment with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong motivation, work ethic and pride in your own work and in what we can achieve as a team

Ideally you would have:

  • Experience with EventsAir
  • An interest in the issues affecting Australian business
  • Tertiary education in a related field e.g. bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or vocational training in business, event management, hospitality, customer service etc.
