We are : One Inch Badge, an innovative and progressive event promotions and production company based in Brighton. With over 12 years experience we are the most prominent independent promoters of contemporary music in the South East. We deliver over 500 events a year across a diverse range of mediums and genres. Our music programme includes events for such artists as Bonobo, Flume, Oh Sees, Mogwai, Kate Tempest, Haim, Brian Wilson, Freya Ridings, The War on Drugs, Macklemore, Kurt Vile, Royal Blood, Future Islands, Wu-tang Clan, Rodriguez, Nils Frahm, and many more. Our cultural programme includes national touring for acts and shows such as Jon Ronson, Eric Andre, Akala, Ross Edgley, Making a Murderer (Netflix), the Staircase (Netflix), Silent Hill (Konami), Welcome to Night Vale, and many more. Our festival productions include the Mutations Music Festival, Wave Podcast Festival and multiple events at Edinburgh Fringe.

As we continue to expand we are currently looking for a new full-time finance and ticketing officer to join our dynamic and creative team. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial opperations and ticketing requirements of the company. You will be an integral member of the team working on every One Inch Badge event.

Within the finance role your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day financial bookkeeping
  • Invoicing on behalf of the company
  • Preparing financial books for account filing
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns
  • Preparing and filing FEU returns
  • Liaising with ticketing agencies to approve billing
  • Liaising with venues to approve venue settlements
  • Chasing debtors
  • Responsible for petty cash
  • Making payments and processing floats and expenses

Within the ticketing role your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The set up of event ticketing

  • Day-to-day sales analysis and the movement of tickets cross-agency

  • Compiling weekly full company ticketing reports for directors

  • Compiling event offsale reports

 

Personal Requirements :

  • 3 years experience in bookkeeping

  • Experience working within the music and/or events industry

  • An understanding of industry taxes such as FEU (preferred but not essential)

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and accountancy system experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Good communication skills as you liaise on a daily basis with ticketing agencies, venues, artist agents, accountants and company directors

  • Positive working attitude

  • A desire to expand your learning.

  • Great at multi-tasking – able to divide time between tasks effectively and prioritise when needed

  • A team player – willing to work flexibly to tackle the companies focus on any given day

  • Self motivating and able to work independently

  • Able to thrive in a fast paced and busy environment

  • A passion for music and events and a desire to be involved within the financial side of the industry.
