Junior Policy Officer / Industry Liaison

Salary: £30-£35,000 pro rata, depending on experience

Type: Permanent, 60% FTE with scope to increase to full-time

FEAT is a non-profit organisation formed to fight ticket touting and protect live music fans across Europe. We represent live events professionals who promote some of the biggest names in music. Since launching in 2019, we’ve helped to secure key provisions in EU law to regulate ticket resale platforms, published comprehensive guides for the live sector on best ticketing practice and, in 2023, unveiled a campaign aiming to educate and empower fans to avoid being ripped off. FEAT is operated by music business communications consultancy Name PR.

We are looking to hire a Junior Policy Officer, who will also take on an industry liaison role. Preferably based in London, you will progress our work campaigning for regulation and enforcement and developing industry best practice. The role is part-time, with occasional overtime required around conferences and events.

Responsibilities 

• Taking a lead on policy work, from writing position papers and open letters to launching public campaigns and guides
• Developing a good understanding EU regulation and keeping on top of regulatory changes and legal cases
• Building relationships with EU policymakers and stakeholders
• Liaising with FEAT members and partner associations, including leading music promoters, agents and managers
• National and international travel to conferences and meetings across the EU, approximately every 2-3 months
• Administrative tasks, including updating and maintaining FEAT’s documentation

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in a policy/legal or live music industry role
• Good knowledge of the live music sector and interest in role of regulation
• Great communicator, ability to form relationships with policymakers and other stakeholders 
• Brilliant organisational skills – you’ll need to manage a full-on workload 
• Exceptional writing skills
• Excellent research skills
• Ability to work as part of a team, using initiative to drive projects forward
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Desirable:

• Knowledge of EU political systems
• IT skills including familiarity with Mailchimp, WordPress and Canva
