Marketing and Ticketing Lead

Grade 5, £29,459 – £32,765 (inclusive of local weighting) depending on experience. Full time. Permanent. Based at Hertford Theatre with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours. Closing date is Friday 26th January at midnight.

About the role

A rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing and Ticketing Lead has become available to work at Hertford Theatre as part of the new team relaunching the building after a 4-year hiatus and a £24m redevelopment. This is an exciting time for you to join us and develop your career as we seek to strengthen and deepen the programme of films, theatre, live events and community work in our 550-seat theatre, 150-seat studio theatre, dance studio, community room and 3 dedicated cinemas.

The successful candidate will support the Marketing and Communications Manager with all marketing and promotional activity for the new arts building. The ambitious and highly professional team at Hertford Theatre are looking for someone to join them who is committed to excellence in their work and to growing new audiences through a broad range of theatre, film, and community events. If successful, you will support marketing all aspects of the new operation; maximising the Spektrix CRM ticketing system to ensure the cultural and commercial success of the programme in line with the business plan. The post holder will line manage the Marketing and Ticketing Assistants

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with the delivery of the marketing strategy for the venue.
• Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in the successful delivery of the CRM ticketing system including loading shows, refunds and building seating plans.
• Support the Marketing and Communications Manager and work with others in the marketing team in the production of all promotional literature and social media messaging for all theatre, cinema and live events including hirers across the building.
• Support the Marketing and Communications Manager in the delivery of the Membership and Patron scheme.
• To configure the ticketing system where appropriate with additional theatre software packages such as PointOne Epos, Artifx & Crowd Engage.
• Act as a main point of contact for all ticketing and sales enquiries
• Lead on all group ticket bookings and school bookings for all events, shows and films across the venue. Over-seeing the booking process from initial enquiry through to invoicing, payment, e-ticket generation, and seating plans where appropriate.
• Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with the organising and delivery of all Press events.
• Line manage, lead and support the Marketing & Ticketing Assistants within a blended work environment.
• To act as an ambassador for Hertford Theatre, its values and mission.
• Maintain membership of, and involvement with, any relevant and valuable networks

About you

This role will suit an ambitious, experienced Marketing and/or Ticketing professional who is keen to make their mark on a significant, new arts building in Hertfordshire. If you are an enthusiastic team player with a capacity to work independently where necessary, have an eye for detail and are well-networked in the theatre and film sectors then this role is for you.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience of marketing within an arts or cultural setting.
• Experience of working as part of a marketing team within an arts or cultural setting.
• Experience of marketing a wide range of small/middle scale shows, films, and events.
• Experience of marketing a range of community, education, and outreach activities.
• Experience of managing and optimising market-leading back-end CRM ticketing systems eg Spektrix and/or Ticketsolve.
• Experience of gathering and interpreting data to inform sales initiatives and strengthen programming.
