POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a competent Senior Event Operations Manager to oversee and organize events that will make an impact to a target audience. You’ll ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.

A Senior Event Operations Manager is, above all, a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques. We want to see enthusiastic candidates with fresh ideas and the organizational skills required to not leave anything about an event to chance.

 

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Plan event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives
  • Manage logistics for all type of events: coordinate housing, select venues, manage food and beverage, entertainment, and attendee registration, research/negotiate with vendors, oversee technical provisioning, stage production, hotel room block management, transportation, research premium/giveaway items, oversee shipping and content logistics, implementation, procurement and payment and other brand elements
  • Serve as project manager for events including vendor sourcing, selection, negotiation, event activities/logistics, action item tracking, pre-event, post-event, and on-site activities
  • Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success
  • Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
  • Be in charge of hiring personnel (DJs, waiters etc.)
  • Coordinate all operations
  • Ensure brand alignment across all events
  • Lead promotional activities for the event
  • Supervise all staff (event coordinators, caterers etc.)
  • Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur
  • Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports
  • Ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends as dictated by business needs.
  • Responsible for performing additional related duties as assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certification/Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent combination in marketing, communications, business administration and/or a related discipline.

· Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of successful event /operations manager experience.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Passionate individual willing to immerse him/herself in their work.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, management and time management skills with the ability to effectively set priorities.
  • Track record of building and maintaining client and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, listening and presentation.
  • Strong operational capabilities.
  • Proven experience as event/project manager
  • 5-7 years’ experience in events, marketing, or trade shows
  • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
  • Bi-Lingual, English, Spanish speaking required
  • Experience of events within large scale, cultural venues
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills which enable him/her to work effectively in a team and communicate quickly and efficiently under pressure
  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A knack for problem-solving
  • A team player with leadership skills
