The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world – the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is host to more than 70 major events annually, attracting over four million patrons and visitors.

The Venue & Event Services department is responsible for the planning and delivery of all major events staged at the MCG, and employs approximately 1000 event staff. Ticketing, accreditation and access control services are critical to efficient and effective event delivery and the ultimate success of events at the MCG. Ticketing Services is responsible for liaising with venue hirers to establish and maintain appropriate ticketing requirements and providing a responsive and high quality service to all its external and internal customers.

 

Due to an internal promotion, a great opportunity has arisen for a Ticketing and Accreditation Coordinator within this team. Reporting to the Ticketing & Accreditation Manager, the goals of this role include (but not limited to):

 

  • Ensure ticketing services at the ground are best practice
  • Ensure optimum efficiencies in relation to establishing, maintaining and monitoring appropriate ticketing and accreditation requirements and access control systems at the MCG
  • Provide match day support to the Stadium Management Centre during events.
  • Supervise and coordinate (or assist with) during events, all aspects of events management, ensuing all procedures are adhered to, thus maintaining an integrated, organised and successful event.
  • Liaise with event hirers to establish and agree on the event seating configuration and ticketing price reserves
  • Responsible for management of venue on event days when rostered as event manager
  • Prepare post event ticketing sale reports
  • Respond to patron complaints relating to ticket or seating issues
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as AFL and Cricket Australia/Victoria representatives

To be considered for this position, you will need the following:

Essential

  • Ticketing background is necessary
  • Experience in the Event/Sport/Venue or relevant Industry
  • Team player who has a collaborative and respectful approach to peers, subordinates and superiors.
  • High level of knowledge with Microsoft Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong understanding of and experience with computerised ticketing systems
  • Exceptional time management, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • High quality of written and oral communication skills with the ability to problem solve efficiently
  • Committed to operate within an effective team environment
  • Strong customer service skills


Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in events field or relevant fields
