Full Description

AEG European Festivals was established in 2019 to maintain the successful BST Hyde Park and newly launched All Points East multi-day events. With the addition of the Rock en Seine festival in Paris and the more recent partnership with Forwards Festival in Bristol launching in 2022 the division has an exciting remit.

There will be further strategic expansion with new markets to be added within the next 24 months.

We are seeking a Vice President & General Manager with overall responsibility for all revenue, marketing, operational functions and the festivals team.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading a team who manage and operate festivals and developing new and innovative approaches to growing the business.

You’ll have overall responsibility for the management of the division with a particular focus on the commercial running of each event and shall oversee all AEG Group services including the Global Partnership team in both target setting and delivery of first-class sponsorship opportunities. You’ll also support the strategic vision and future strategy for the division with the CEO and US AEG Presents Senior Leadership Team.

Reporting directly to the CEO of AEG European Festivals, you will be expected to deliver, and where possible exceed on all revenue and content targets. The role extends across the existing festival portfolio, with a view to developing new events, tenders, partnerships, acquisitions, and contract renewals and shall work with the CEO on setting the strategic vision.

You’ll ensure effective day to day people management; giving clarity, leadership and continued motivation to sustain the cohesive nature of the festivals team, Senior Leadership Team, external partners and other 3rd party relationships and propel them forward to continually improve delivery and results.

You’ll also represent the best interests of the division and its events both internally and externally; at division and AEG Presents level, and with our event promoting partners such as Live Nation and Team Love, or across the broader stakeholder group including The Royal Parks (TRP) or Tower Hamlets and continue to develop the world-class reputation of the AEG Festivals division and each festival brand we work with.

We’re looking for someone with substantial experience of senior management in a world class major event or festival organisation. Commercially focused, you’ll have demonstrable experience of developing and managing large budgets.

You’ll have a strong understanding of how the live music industry works and have a history of building contacts across the live music and festival sectors.

You’ll have proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to mentor and motivate to get the best out of people. You’ll empower your team so they feel trusted to do the right thing and be inclusive, listening to all ideas and opinions.

You’ll want to raise the bar in this role, be solutions focussed and look for ways to maximise efficiency. We encourage new ideas and innovation. We’ll give you a thorough induction where you’ll get to meet other new employees and learn about how AEG operates. We will give you all the training in our systems, policies and procedures so that you’ll be set up for success.

Where: You’ll be based at our vibrant and relaxed head office in Blackfriars, a short walk from Southwark tube station and also onsite at our festivals. We offer flexible start and end times and also welcome flexible working conversations.
