JustRide in motion in two more UK regions

JustRide owner Masabi has signed two new contracts to provide mobile ticketing services to transport operators in regions of the UK.

National Express Bus will be deploying the end-to-end cloud-based mobile ticketing system across the West Midlands, allowing students to purchase monthly travel passes on their smartphones. The service will be available in addition to existing sales channels.

Masabi will also provide the JustRide mobile ticketing solution to Preston Bus, the company running bus services in and around the Lancashire city.

As a part of both deployments, Masabi will be using Mastercard Gateway Payment Services (MPGS) to enable simple, safe and secure in-app digital payments.

“Every second that a bus is parked at a stop collecting passenger fares is time that it is not transporting people to where they need to be. By introducing mobile ticketing Preston Bus hopes to reduce the time buses spend at bus stops by as much as 50 per cent – dramatically increasing efficiency and improving the customer experience,” said Brian Zanghi, chief executive of Masabi, which has offices in Massachusetts, New York and London.

“It’s fantastic to see technology being used in such a way and a pleasure to be implementing the project with our partners Mastercard.”

JustRide comprises apps for ticket purchase, display and inspection together with back-end infrastructure for secure payments, ticket management, customer service, reporting and real-time analytics.

Masabi is operational in cities around the globe, including Boston, London, Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans and Athens.
