The Formula 1 British Grand Prix welcomed a record-breaking 480,000 people across the race weekend at Silverstone Circuit.

A record 160,000 attended Sunday’s race alone, which was won by Dutch driver Max Verstappen. British drivers Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton finished second and third, respectively.

Following last year’s British Grand Prix, Silverstone signed a five-year deal with Secutix to manage the ticket sales for all events at the Northamptonshire circuit.

Last year’s race day saw a then-record attendance of 142,000 and 401,000 spectators across the entire weekend.

Formula 1 has witnessed a surge in popularity following the release of Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive’ series, which launched in 2019.
