Music discovery app Shazam has introduced a new concert feature, allowing users to find nearby shows that relate to their music history.

The app is owned by technology giant Apple, with the feature simply called ‘Concerts’ and is already available via the ‘My Music’ section. The new update will be available to Android users in due course.

‘Concerts’ will recommend events, and enable users to save and set reminders for upcoming shows, while also showcasing available tickets. Users will then have the option to purchase tickets through BandsInTown or other ticket providers.

The update will also offer exclusives from particular artists that users can unlock, such as behind the scenes videos, Apple Watch faces, tour photos and setlists, among other perks. Not only has it been added to Shazam, but the ‘Concerts’ feature has been incorporated in the iPhone search tool Spotlight, where users can search for an artist, and view concert and ticketing information immediately on iOS 17.

Shazam’s new integrated ‘Concerts’ feature follows on from a previous collaboration with BandsInTown that was revealed in March 2022.

Through this original partnership, Shazam users could search for an artist and find tour information using the BandsInTown database. The new feature differs from the original as it now boasts its own section within Shazam, dedicated to concerts and show recommendations.
