Taylor Swift played to the biggest crowd of her career so far over the weekend, with 96,000 fans packing out each of the singer’s three nights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Swift thanked fans in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: “Melbourne, what do I even say to you after over 288,000 of you came and danced with us in the last three nights? That was unforgettable. You were on another level. Thank you for the memories. I’ll revisit the ones from this weekend often.”

The singer’s Eras Tour will now head to Sydney for four nights at Accor Stadium.

Swift last performed dates in Australia as part of her Reputation tour in 2018. Following the Sydney dates, Swift will head to Singapore for six shows at the 55,000-capacity National Stadium in March.

The 34-year-old singer will then head to Paris to begin the European leg of her tour.

The Eras Tour began in March 2023 and will wind up in Canada in December this year.

Ahead of the Melbourne dates on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (yesterday), some Swift ticket-holders were targeted by hackers leading Ticketek to open pop-up customer service stops to help.

Guardian Australia reported that hackers used ‘credential stuffing’ – where they guess passwords using data from other hacks shared online.
