2017 Ashes tickets on sale a year ahead of first game

Hospitality packages for next winter’s Ashes series are to go on sale later this week as organisers give fans a full year to plan their trip to Australia.

Ticket and travel packages for the five-Test series are to go on sale on Friday, some 342 days ahead of the opening game at the Gabba in Brisbane on November 23, 2017. The sale will include packages for the first-ever day/night Test match, which will take place under the floodlights at the Adelaide Oval from December 2-6, 2017.

While details of a general sale have yet to be announced, Cricket Australia is expecting the five Tests, as well as a five-game one-day series and Twenty20 competition that will also feature New Zealand, to sell out.

“We recognise how big the Ashes is for both home and travelling fans, and the early announcement of the schedule for this series will allow fans here in Australia and abroad to plan their Ashes summer,” said James Sutherland, chief executive of Cricket Australia.

“We’re really excited to announce that Adelaide will play host to the first ever day/night Ashes Test. We know how much Adelaide fans love this style of Test cricket. We’re expecting a full house next year in what is sure to be a great contest.”
