Davis Cup proves an ace with GB fans

Three-day tickets for next month’s Davis Cup semi-final between Great Britain and Argentina in Glasgow sold out in just 30 minutes.

British Tennis members were given priority in buying three-day tickets on Wednesday and single-day tickets on Thursday. Any remaining tickets to see the likes of Wimbledon and Olympic champion Andy Murray in action were due to go on sale to the general public today (Friday) through official vendor Ticket Factory.

Three-day tickets, which made up 40 per cent of total seats for the event, cost up to £270 (€315/$350), with single-day entry priced from £70.

A report in the Herald newspaper said that reselling sites were charging more than £1,000 for a single-day ticket within hours of the official sale.
