StubHub adds to college roster

StubHub has expanded its presence in US college sports after becoming the official ticket marketplace of Boston College Athletics.

The ticket marketplace’s agreement with the school includes ticketing integration and sponsorship rights for football, men’s basketball and men’s hockey. StubHub will work in partnership with Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement, provider of integrated ticketing and marketing services, and Fenway Sports Management, the university’s multimedia rights partner

The partnership marks StubHub’s eighth property in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and means it now has deals in place with more than 40 Division I universities.

“We are very excited to partner with StubHub to now offer BC fans an improved ticket resale solution,” said JM Caparro, Boston College senior associate athletic director of external relations. “With StubHub’s dedication to customer service, this partnership was a natural fit to provide our season ticket members with a safe and easy platform to resell any tickets they’re unable to use.”

During the 2015-16 season, 10 Boston teams participated in the NCAA Championships. However, the Eagles’ attendances figures have been falling in recent times, with home football crowds having dropped to their lowest point in 25 years.

StubHub said that Eagles fans will now be able to “access a fully integrated ticketing platform, which allows season- and single-game ticket-holders the opportunity to resell tickets with confidence and ease on the world’s largest ticket marketplace”.

“StubHub is proud to partner with Boston College and Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement as we work together with the Northeast’s premier athletic programme,” said Brian O’Malley, senior manager, business development, StubHub.

“We look forward to working with our partners and the BC community to provide fans an exceptional and trusted ticket marketplace, while also offering a suite of tools that make it easy to buy and sell tickets on-the-go and support the Eagles.”
