US Open women’s final seats are a smash with fans

The gap in demand for seats at this year’s US Open men’s and women’s finals is at its narrowest for at least five years, according to SeatGeek.

The resale marketplace, which began tracking the data in 2011, said the average price for a ticket at the women’s final was $520 this year, which is just 18% cheaper than for the men’s game.

SeatGeek said the gap in resale prices 21 days ahead of the finals has been about 42% on average over the last five years.

Nate Rattner, a SeatGeek analyst, told the CNN news website that demand may be higher because fans are eager to see US star Serena Williams win her 23rd Grand Slam title.
