SAE POPB, which operates Accor Arena, the under-construction Adidas Arena and the Bataclan theatre, has formed the Paris Entertainment Company.

The three venues including the Bataclan, which SAE POPB (SAE Palais Omnisports Paris Bercy) purchased in 2021, will present three different capacities and positions within the market to host live events alongside sporting matches.

Accor Arena opened in 1984 while the Bataclan has stood since 1865. Adidas Arena is a new venue currently under construction. Adidas signed an initial five-year naming rights deal with SAE POPB last year, replacing the original Arena 2 at Porte de la Chapell moniker.

Adidas Arena is the only intramural facility to be built as part of the Paris 2024 Olympics and will have a capacity of 9,000 people. Once completed, it is set to host more than 100 sporting, e-sports and music events every year. The venue will also become the new home of professional basketball club, Paris Basketball.

Nicolas Dupeux, chief executive of the Paris Entertainment Company, said: “The transformation of the Accor Arena into a living and breathing part of the city has convinced us to offer an intensified and extended customer experience, in all our destinations.

“We are developing this vision of entertainment in our three Parisian venues and their programmes, which are as diverse as they are complementary in terms of music and sports. As operators, creators, and designers of hybrid lively venues built around emblematic halls, our ambition at Paris Entertainment Company is to create destinations that bring Paris to life and shape the French cultural scene.”
