Bruno Mars is set to perform during the grand opening of Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
The artist will perform two back-to-back opening night shows on August 15 and 16.
Intuit Dome will be the new home of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) LA Clippers, which will relocate from its current base, Crypto.com Arena.
The venue has been built at a cost of almost $2bn (£1.6bn/€1.8bn) and will have a capacity of 18,000 once opened. Financial software company Intuit acquired the naming rights when the project first broke ground in September 2021.
“We are thrilled Bruno Mars will open Intuit Dome,” said Gillian Zucker, chief executive of Halo Sports and Entertainment, the arena’s parent company.
“Bruno, who has a strong connection to Inglewood, will undoubtedly deliver an iconic performance that is worthy of this moment, and will leave a lasting impression on everyone who attends these two shows.”
The venue will also offer fans an intimate viewing experience, with seats hovering over the floor to bring them closer to the show. The premium seating has been designed to reduce the gap between sections, with the venue also set to feature an 80,000-square-foot outdoor Plaza that will house a 5,000-square-foot retail store, as well as three bars and restaurants.
Tickets for the Bruno Mars concerts will go on sale on April 11 and will be available via Ticketmaster.
In January, the Clippers revealed that fans could now secure their memberships for the 2024-25 NBA season at Intuit Dome.
