Co-op Live, Manchester’s new 23,500-capacity entertainment arena that is set to open next year, has announced that the Jonas Brothers will be the first act to perform.

The June 17 stop will form part of the pop trio’s ‘Five Albums. One Night. Tour’, which includes further stops in the UK at The O2 in London on June 12, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on June 15 and OVO Hydro in Glasgow on June 16.

Jonas Brothers will also perform at Dublin’s 3Arena before heading over to Belfast’s SSE Arena.

The finishing touches are currently being made to Co-op Live, which is a joint venture between Oak View Group and City Football Group and is set to open in April next year.

Some 25 programmed events have been scheduled so far for Co-op Live’s opening month.

“We’re counting down the days until we can open the doors of this incredible new venue for Manchester and the UK,” said Gary Roden, executive director and general manager of Co-op Live.

“I’m thrilled that shortly after announcing our April 2024 opening date, we can reveal that Jonas Brothers will be part of our opening season of globally renowned artists, highlighting the strength and diversity across our forthcoming line-up of shows.”

Amanda Jennings, director of marketing communications, Co-op, added: “This first artist and pre-sale ticket announcement marks a key milestone for the eagerly anticipated opening of Co-op Live. The arena embodies Co-op’s principles, values and vision and we’re looking forward to seeing these brought to life through this unique partnership.

“Additionally, we’re excited to start sharing what we have in the pipeline for our members, which includes exclusive benefits such as first in line access to tickets, food and beverage discounts at Co-op concessions and hospitality experiences.”

Co-op members will gain early access to tickets for the Jonas Brothers gig through a designated pre-sale on August 2. General sale tickets will then be available through Co-op Live from August 4. There will also be a Live Nation pre-sale on August 3 before tickets will be available for all UK and Ireland gigs on August 4.
