The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will return to being held over eight days ahead of its 2024 edition.

In 2024, one of the US’s most established festivals will add an extra day as it is celebrated over two equal four-day weekends. The festival will be held from Thursday, April 25 to Sunday, April 28, and Thursday, May 2 to Sunday, May 5.

The event, which dates back to 1970, is held at Fair Grounds Race Course and welcomes almost 500,000 people annually. New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is operated by Festival Productions, Inc. New Orleans and AEG Presents.

The festival has been held over eight days twice before – in 2003 and 2019. The latter was to celebrate its 50th staging and it was decided to keep eight days in 2020. However, the 2020 event was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic and returned in 2022 over seven days.

The Jazz Fest talent roster, along with pricing specifics, is typically announced in mid-January. Tina Turner, Ray Charles and Foo Fighters are among those that have headlined the festival. Typically, around 5,000 musicians, mostly from the Louisiana region, participate each year.
