Moshtix claims first with new chat bot

Australian independent ticketing firm Moshtix has launched a new Facebook Chat Bot system entitled MoshMessenger.

The service will seek to make finding and attending live events easier for fans. The company said MoshMessenger is designed to make it the “one-stop shop for event discovery, ticket delivery and support in even more channels”.

In what Moshtix claims is a first for the local ticketing market, MoshMessenger can deliver tickets straight to a customer’s Facebook Messenger account following a purchase. Fans can then easily receive, download and store their tickets.

It is hoped the service will eliminate the need for fans to print or find tickets they have been emailed months earlier, and also addresses the issue of tickets being lost in junk email folders. MoshMessenger tickets can also be scanned directly from a customer’s phone.

Moshtix chief executive Harley Evans said: “Moshtix’s philosophy is to ‘make live easy’ and remove the barriers between the performer and the fan, and we feel MoshMessenger ticks these boxes with a very user-friendly interface on one of the world’s leading social platforms.”

MoshMessenger will handle a range of frequently asked questions and provide customers with an option to ‘speak’ to a real person through Moshtix’s local customer service centre.

Additionally, the service will provide 24/7 support and give customers the chance to search for and select events based on location, date range, type of event, and in the case of music, event genre. Behaviour-based event recommendations will also be offered.

MoshMessenger has been built in partnership with Bolster, a local entertainment digital and technology agency. The service is supported by data-driven machine learning, ensuring it will constantly improve the customer experience.

Bolster founder Alex Zaccaria added: “We’re stoked to be at the forefront of a new era of events marketing in Australia. We’ve pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with conversational marketing through the first release of this bot. What’s most exciting about MoshMessenger is that it goes beyond just marketing, into function and purpose. It will help fans discover shows and get answers to their questions, quicker than ever. We can’t wait to roll out the next phases of it once it’s had time to learn, too.”
