Black Friday deals from the ticket sector

It’s Black Friday today, and with tens of billions of dollars set to be spent around the world, TheTicketingBusiness decided to look at some of the special deals offered from within the ticketing sector.

From big operators to resale sites and sports clubs, the consumer is sure to find a ticketing bargain or two within the dozens of promotional emails they receive before the end of the day…

Ticketmaster

The ticketing giant begins a week of special offers today, with 2-for-1s and discounts available. Ticketmaster said the offers will cover gigs and tours, sport showdowns, comedy performances, theatre and family attractions. At present 50% has been knocked off prices for a selection of comedians, including Jason Manford, with double-digit reductions on major theatre productions and concerts. The company has also knocked 20% off e-gift cards.

Manchester United

The Premier League giants don’t have any problem filling Old Trafford, but are reducing some prices as part of a Red Friday promotion for their official mobile app today. Limited discounts on home match tickets and VIP packages are available via the app today, with any remaining to switch to the club’s website from Saturday.

Theatre

Many West End and New York theatres are offering big discounts for blockbuster productions. LondonTheatre’s offers include no booking fees on Marianne Elliott’s production of Sondheim’s Company, up to 29% off tickets to both parts of Matthew Lopez’s two-part drama The Inheritance, and tickets from £10 to see the latest play in the Pinter at the Pinter season, Pinter Four: Moonlight and Night School.

Milwaukee Bucks

The NBA basketball and their Fiserv Forum arena are offering three games for the price of two this weekend. Those who purchase a Bucks Starting Five package on Saturday or Sunday will get a free Bucks/Love Your Melon beanie. The Bucks are rolling the deals through to Cyber Monday next week when online shoppers will receive discounts related to the number of game tickets they buy – going all the way up to 50% off for five or more games.

StubHub

While many are looking at price, the resale giant is throwing in something a little bit different. StubHub is offering a ‘Gift Rapper’ – a personalised rap message – with all purchases made between today and Christmas. StubHub’s interactive ‘gift rapper’ will ask a few questions about the event and the recipient then produce the ditty. “Even the ticket gift delivery will be memorable,” StubHub said.
