AEG supports pilot launch of Dibit reservation platform

Music and entertainment giant AEG is supporting the pilot launch of Dibit, a new ticketing reservation platform for concerts and sporting events.

The programme will provide fans of singer Chelsea Cutler with the opportunity to secure extended access to face-value tickets to her concert on February 21, 2020 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan.

A reservation for the show, called a ‘Dibit’, will give customers the chance to decide at a later date whether to invest fully in a face-value ticket. If they decide not to attend, they will only lose the $3 cost of the Dibit, rather than the full price.

The Dibit offering will be used for the Chelsea Cutler ‘How To Be Human Tour’ concert at the Royal Oak Theatre. Visitors to the website will have the option of clicking a button to confirm their Dibit and can wait up to a month prior to the show before making a final decision on whether to attend. During that time, a ticket will remain on hold for each Dibit purchased.

“We are thrilled AEG is providing Chelsea Cutler fans this unique opportunity and offering the kind of flexibility the Dibit programme provides concert-goers,” Dibit’s global head of live entertainment, Teddy Raskin, said.

“Too often, concert-goers are hesitant to commit months in advance, because they fear last-minute conflicts might prevent them from attending and don’t want to commit to paying for tickets given that uncertainty. This programme accounts for those possibilities for the cost of one subway ride.”

In addition to the pilot partnership with AEG, the College Football Playoff is using Dibit’s technology to offer fans the opportunity to reserve tickets to the College Football National Championship Game in January via the white label CFP-RSVP platform.
