Festival Travel unveils marketplace tool to account for loss of ticket sales

Festival Travel, which provides European festival holidays, has introduced a solution for large-scale events to increase revenues per visitor by offering more adjacent products and services.

The company has launched Chameleon: The Event Travel Marketplace, which is an online shop that offers various products and services of multiple suppliers at the same time.

Chameleon, which can be implemented as a white-label shop on the event’s website, integrates the offer of extras such as camping, lockers and local transportation in addition to entry tickets for multi-day events, as well as nearby accommodation and travel options (such as train, bus or plane) for the distant visitor.

Festival Travel claims that around 60 per cent to 90 per cent of current entry ticket margins can be earned from such ancillary products and services.

As a result, the curve of declining cash flow due to COVID-19 could be flattened considerably.

Festivals that have already embraced The Event Travel Marketplace include Eurosonic Noorderslag (Netherlands), Sziget Festival (Hungary) and Electric Castle (Romania).
