TEG’s Geoff Jones kicks off day 2 of TBF20

TEG chief executive Geoff Jones will give his thoughts on the future of live events and ticketing in a hotly anticipated session at the start of the second day of this year’s Ticketing Business Forum 2020 this morning.

Jones, who will speak to Xperiology’s Ian Nuttall at 9.30am (GMT) is one of numerous senior executives and industry leaders who will address the virtual conference, which began on Tuesday and concludes tomorrow (Thursday).

On the opening day, representatives from the West End, major sporting events and leading attractions were among those to present and answer questions from the attendees drawn from all over the world. Executives from leading tech firms such as Tixerve, Queue-it, SecuTix and Satisfi Labs participated, as did representatives from AFC Ajax, the British Museum and Euroleague Basketball.

London’s Nimax Theatres gave a whistle stop tour through its journey with its ticketing partner to reopen theatres and change their ticketing systems to operate in the COVID world.

In another session Chris Carey, Founder of Media Insight Consulting, and Tim Chambers, Managing Director, TJChambers Consultancy, presented the findings of their report into the impact of COVID on UK live music that has helped to shape Government policy and assistance.

Meanwhile, Sam Shemtob, Director, FEAT (Face-value European Alliance for Ticketing), reflected on the changes in regulation, technology and public perception that have impacted the resale sector over recent years.
