MLB’s Reds offer ticket discounts for vaccinated fans

Major League Baseball franchise the Cincinnati Reds is offering discounted tickets to fans that have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Fans who have received at least one of the two required injections will be able to purchase View Level tickets for $10 by showing their vaccination card.

The deal is valid for home games at Great American Ball Park between Monday-Thursday during April and May.

The discounted passes can only be redeemed in person at the ticket windows at the 42,319-capacity ballpark during normal business hours.

Fans can purchase up to six tickets per each vaccination card shown.

Tickets purchased will be issued digitally via the MLB Ballpark app to allow contactless entry, including those purchased at the ticket windows.

The Reds kicked off the 2021 season on April 1 and welcomed back fans at 30-per-cent capacity. MLB teams are opening their stadiums at varying capacities this season amid the ongoing risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 MLB campaign is set to follow the traditional season schedule after the league was significantly hit by COVID-19 last year. No regular-season games were held with fans during the 2020 season, which started four months later than originally scheduled due to the pandemic.
