People on the Move: See Tickets, AXS and more

See Tickets has bolstered its international senior management team through the appointment of Adriana Garcia-Abril Ruiz (pictured centre) as managing director of See Tickets Spain.

Garcia-Abril Ruiz, formerly StubHub’s rights holder manager for Spain, is charged with developing all aspects of See Tickets’ Spanish business including building the team to address all operational activities with a focus on client support, client and customer service and business development.

See Tickets has offices in nine European countries including the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland, and in the US in Los Angeles and Nashville.

Rob Wilmshurst, group chief executive of See Tickets, said: “This important step in our Spanish operation is a first of many actions we will take to give our clients, both old and new, and their customers, the market leading services they deserve.”

John Talbot (left), a former Ticketmaster executive, has been named director of business development at AEG Ticketing subsidiary AXS Europe.

Talbot led business development for the artist services business of Ticketmaster International from 2015-20. Most recently, he oversaw partnerships for the electronic cash register company Goodtill by SumUp.

Talbot said: “Joining the AXS team today is the latest step in my 15-year music career that has spanned concerts, ticketing and record labels. In addition to work, I am a passionate music fan, have directed bands and have been an independent promoter and DJ for several years.”

Learfield IMG College, the media and technology services company in North American intercollegiate sport, has appointed John Brody (right) to the role of chief revenue officer.

Brody brings more than two decades of senior leadership success from within sports, media and entertainment, having most recently served as executive vice president, global head of sales and partnerships and head of international for World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE). Prior, Brody was a senior vice president at the National Football League (NFL), where he oversaw sponsorship, partnership management, TV and digital media sales, and media planning divisions.

“John has a phenomenal background of growth and disruption in sports and media sales, which aligns perfectly with how we’re transforming our company and delivering a host of new revenue opportunities to our university partners,” said Cole Gahagan, Learfield IMG College’s president and chief executive.

“His experience, deep relationships and understanding of the sports and entertainment space and evolving media landscape are unparalleled in our industry, and we’re thrilled to have him as our new CRO.”

The ACC Liverpool Group, operator of ACC Liverpool, Exhibition Centre Liverpool and the M&S Bank Arena, has appointed three independent non-executive directors to its board.

Former Liverpool Echo editor Alastair Machray, business development expert Alexandra Cousins and digital marketing and communications leader Jon Corner will contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation and support the executive and non-executive directors.

Max Steinberg, chair of the ACC Liverpool Group, said: “We are pleased to appoint three new independent non-executive directors to our board.

“Each director has a wealth of experience across many different facets of business and we are confident that they will add strength and expertise to our existing board, supporting the strategic direction of our organisation.”
