V-Varen Nagasaki to introduce unique stadium entry system

Japanese J-League Division 2 (J2) football club V-Varen Nagasaki has announced that its top-tier season ticket holders will be able to enter its home stadium, Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki, without even showing their membership cards if they are wearing the new replica shirts, starting from the upcoming 2022 season.

In the statement, the club described its innovative fan experience as a first in the three major Japanese professional sport leagues, namely the J-League, Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), and basketball’s B-League.

According to V-Varen Nagasaki, season ticket holders can purchase any of the 2022 season shirts be it a home, away, or goalkeeper shirt, and enrol in to the club’s V-Lovers Silver Membership. This will automatically elevate their status to the higher-ranked V-Lovers Gold Membership and ensure they are registered for the new innovative way to enter the stadium.

Fans who wish to purchase several kinds of shirts can also enjoy the new entry system by simply registering each of their purchased shirts to their designated season ticket so they can wear different shirts to matches depending on the occasion.

The club, which has yet to reveal the actual mechanism of the new entry system, believed to be using RFID technology, said that the shirts can be washed and dried in household washing machines.

V-Varen Nagasaki is developing a new stadium complex near Nagasaki Station and is aiming to move into its new home in 2024.
