The English Championship’s Blackburn Rovers Football Club has celebrated GCSE results day across England, Wales and Northern Ireland by offering qualifying students £5 ($6/€6) tickets for its home fixture against Bristol City.
Many students collected their GCSE results yesterday – a qualification needed to go on to their respective college course, study A-Levels or take on an apprenticeship.
To celebrate the day, Blackburn is inviting students to complete a registration form and bring it to the Ticket Office at the club’s Roverstore, 24 hours before kick-off.
Blackburn is set to face Bristol City at the 31,000-capacity Ewood Park on Saturday September 3. That means eligible students have until September 2 to take the form to the venue to claim their £5 ticket.
Students will only be able to redeem the offer in-person and forms will also be available at the club’s store if necessary. They will also need to bring their GCSE results page to prove they are eligible for the discounted ticket.
Blackburn is currently fourth in the Championship after wining three out of its opening five matches. Bristol City is currently seventh after losing the last two games.
