NYC Broadway Week is set to return in September, in a bid to encourage audiences to engage with theatres through a special offer.

The campaign will run September 4 through 17, and theatre-lovers and new fans alike will be able to snap up two-for-one tickets as part of the initiative.

Run by New York City Tourism + Conventions, NYC Broadway Week has been going since 2011 and is a twice-yearly programme.

Participating Broadway shows include: Sweeney Todd, Chicago, MJ, & Juliet, Hamilton, The Lion King, Back to the Future, Cottage, Aladdin, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Wicked, The Book of Mormon, Moulin Rouge! and more.

NYC Broadway Week tickets will be made available in limited quantities and the discount is only applicable for select seats at each production. The discount also has a two-ticket minimum purchase, and rather than a full-price ticket plus a free ticket, all tickets will be issued at 50% off their original price.

Theatre and the performing arts sector in the US has somewhat struggled post-pandemic, with cancelled seasons and closed doors for a number of venues.

However, a recent study from JCA Arts Marketing demonstrated that there was a glimmer of hope, with sales and income trend lines improving.
