AMC Theatres, a cinema chain in the US and worldwide, has revealed that the ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour’ concert film has broken the record for single-day advance ticket sales revenue.

The ticket sales last week amounted to $26m (£21m/€24m), a new record for ticket sales for a single title on one day at AMC. The previous record of $16.9m was held by ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Additionally, the Taylor Swift concert film broke the record in less than three hours after the tickets were placed on sale.

AMC has also added extra showtimes to increase capacity to cater for the demand. The concert film will play at least four times per day on Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at each AMC Theatre location in the US.

Ahead of the advanced tickets going on sale, AMC bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than five times the previous record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.

The concert film will open at AMC Theatres on October 13.
