Payment-processing corporation and technology company Mastercard has signed a multi-year deal with Live Nation to grant cardholders access to concert presale tickets, premium seats and VIP experiences.

The exclusive opportunities will be available through Mastercard’s Priceless platform, building on the benefits already available to cardholders including experiences for travel, wellness, culinary and more.

From January 1, eligible Mastercard cardholders will have access to these new benefits across 19 different countries including Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Japan, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and the UK.

Raja Rajamannar, chief marketing and communications officer for Mastercard, said: “At Mastercard, we’re constantly seeking new ways to enrich our cardholders’ lives, in moments big and small. Like nothing else, music excites us, inspires us and unites us. In partnership with Live Nation, we’re delighted to bring our cardholders closer to their passion for music through this extraordinary set of benefits.”

The partnership will also see Mastercard build on its commitment to restoring 100 million trees through its Priceless Planet Coalition. Guided by Conservation International and World Resources Institute, the scheme works with businesses and consumers to take actions to fight climate change.

In collaboration with Mastercard, Live Nation will provide opportunities for customers to donate to restore a tree when purchasing concert tickets during certain Mastercard presale events.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Mastercard and help their cardholders experience their favourite artists like never before,” added Russell Wallach, Live Nation’s global president of media and sponsorship.

“Our partnership will not only create lifelong memories for Mastercard cardholders but also bring tremendous marketing support to artists and shows worldwide, fostering an enduring connection with audiences for many years to come.”

Last week, the entertainment giant posted its best-ever third quarter, with record ticket revenue and attendances.
