Los Angeles is set to provide the backdrop for the fifth round of HSBC SVNS 2024 from World Rugby, with tickets for the rugby sevens series now on sale.

Taking place at the home of Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy, Dignity Health Sports Park, on March 2-3, the two-day festival will be hosted across two pitches and will feature 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams.

World Rugby rebranded its rugby sevens series earlier this year, enhancing the experience with food, music and activations. HSBC SVNS LAX will also feature a beach club with DJs and a dance floor.

For a more premium experience, World Rugby is offering a ‘golden ticket’ which is the governing body’s new hospitality offering featuring food and drink, a full programme of entertainment in private lounges and exclusive seats.

Under the new model HSBC SVNS 2024 will feature seven regular-season events plus a Grand Final. The top eight placed teams based on cumulative series points at the conclusion of the seventh round in Singapore will have the opportunity to fight for the crown at the Grand Final in Madrid. Both the women’s and men’s HSBC SVNS 2024 champions will be crowned in the Spanish capital.

Madrid will also host a relegation play-off competition where teams ranked ninth to 12th will join the top four teams from the World Rugby Sevens Challenger, with the top four securing a spot in the HSBC SVNS 2025 series.

“With the LA 2028 Summer Olympics and two Rugby World Cups on the horizon, it’s no secret that USA and California are exciting growth markets for World Rugby and we are thrilled once again to bring HSBC SVNS 2024 back to America as part of our rebranded and revamped global calendar,” said World Rugby Sevens general manager, Sam Pinder.

“With a second competition field added, world-class food, music and other exciting additions to the event schedule, we believe this truly immersive festival of rugby and unforgettable experiences will create the ultimate weekend-long get together for young people and undoubtedly be the hottest ticket in town in 2024.”

Dan Lyle, AEG Rugby director, added: “AEG are excited to extend and grow our partnership with World Rugby by collaborating on the newly re-launched HSBC SVNS. Los Angeles will prove to be the perfect runway as we combine men’s and women’s national teams together with a re-imagined entertainment experience all building towards the LA2028 Olympic Games.”
