FC Barcelona has announced the launch of Barça Games, which the Spanish LaLiga club claims is the first video game platform created by a sports club.

Fans will be able to connect, listen to music through streaming partner Spotify, play their favourite video games, participate in tournaments, and access the exclusive store to purchase Barça Games t-shirts, as well as tickets for concerts or sports tournaments.

The platform has been created to align with the club’s objective of creating a long-term digital space where fans can celebrate and socialise. The platform was designed as part of a collaboration between FC Barcelona, Mas Ros Media and FiReSPORTS.

While the new platform will be available to access from next April, the announcement was made at the Barça Immersive Tour, a further aspect of the club’s dedication to creating a truly digital experience for fans. The immersive experience opened in June next to the club’s Palau Blaugrana arena, where it will be used until the new museum opens at the revamped Camp Nou during the 2024-25 season.

Barça Games will offer fans content on demand, with users able to accumulate points that will allow them to be part of the Masia Virtual – a digital version of La Masia, the club’s youth training academy.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta said: “Barça Games responds to the club’s commitment to remain leaders in the face of new opportunities and promote the construction of the Espai Barça Digital.

“The creation of the Barça Games platform responds to the Club’s clear commitment to continue to be leaders in the face of new opportunities and promote the construction of the Barça Digital Space, grouping in the same digital community all the culers we have around the world and also reinforcing their feeling of belonging to FC Barcelona.”
