Chelsea Women sells over 20,000 tickets for Stamford Bridge clash

Chelsea Women’s clash against rivals Manchester United Women at Stamford Bridge (pictured) has seen over 20,000 tickets snapped up.

The Women’s Super League (WSL) match is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the 40,000-capacity Stamford Bridge, which is traditionally home to the men’s Premier League side.

Tickets are currently on general sale, with supporters able to purchase up to 10 tickets each.

Chelsea Women last played at Stamford Bridge in December, in a UEFA Women’s Champions League match against Swedish club BK Häcken Women.

The last WSL fixture to be played at Stamford Bridge was in November, with Chelsea beating Liverpool Women 5-1. The attendance for this game was just shy of 13,000.

While Chelsea Women’s crowds at Stamford Bridge have been commendable, attendances have not reached the levels witnessed by fellow London club Arsenal Women when playing at Emirates Stadium.

In early December, it was revealed that Chelsea’s away match against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium had sold over 55,000 tickets.

The game went on to attract 59,042 attendees, setting a new WSL record.
