Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club has unveiled a Golden Era Pack ticket that will grant fans access to a quartet of games including a 50th anniversary fixture against Austin FC at BC Place on May 4.

The match will mark nearly 50 years to the day since the Major League Soccer (MLS) club played its inaugural match on May 5, 1974.

The Golden Era Pack will start at $247 (£195/€226) and will also include access to the Whitecaps’ 2024 MLS season opener against Charlotte FC on March 2.

The team’s first-ever match with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami CF on May 25 and August 24’s play-off rematch with Los Angeles FC is also included in the deal.

“As we have said many times, this is going to be our biggest season yet as we celebrate the past, present, and future of Vancouver Whitecaps FC,” said Vancouver Whitecaps FC chief executive, Axel
Schuster.

“We are greatly anticipating our 50th Anniversary Match to celebrate our alumni and the rich history of our club. We also know that there is great anticipation for all of these games, so we encourage
fans to secure their tickets as soon as possible.”

The Whitecaps experienced a mixed season last year as the team suffered a first-round play-off elimination to LAFC by a 5-2 aggregate score.

The British Columbian side beat Honduran outfit Real España 7-3 over two legs in the CONCACAF Champions League first round but fell to defeat against LAFC yet again in the quarter-finals, losing
both legs 3-0.

However, the Whitecaps did win the Canadian Championship for the second year running after getting the better of CF Montréal 2-1 in the final.
